About Us

In 1946 Major John E Piccaver began farming in the abundantly fertile silt lands of South Lincolnshire. Joined by his son David in 1965 they embarked upon a mission to deliver exciting, vibrant and innovative products to an eager nation.
By 1988, J E Piccaver & Co had become established as a pioneer in the production of salad leaf. Now run by the Major’s grandson Stuart, innovation, stewardship and the desire to deliver fantastic produce remain firmly at the heart of the business

Making a positive difference

At JEPCO we take our stewardship responsibilities very seriously and work continuously to improve the ecosystem. We have 127 acres dedicated to two schemes that include reed bed recreation, new woodlands, pollen and nectar mixes and buffer strips for watercourses.
Currently, we provide a safe haven for a number of Red Listed birds; we also have a number of breeding raptors amongst our 35 owl boxes and carefully managed woodlands

Innovation

Innovating since 1946

Innovation is truly at the heart of all that we do, from variety trials with seed houses, robotics trials with machinery manufacturers, to agronomic trials with industry bodies. We constantly strive to offer our customers, suppliers and ultimately the consumer, the most exciting, the most efficient and the most relevant products and processes available. If we are to future proof our supply chain, we must innovate together
